Aunt Louise was full of life, wisdom and leadership. The love for her family was fierce! She was a mother to us all! I’ll always remember that brilliant smile and her sparkling blue eyes (often filled with mischief)!
There are so many Aunt Louise memories, it is difficult to narrow it down to just a few. I remember her riding our mini bike during a family reunion, eyes bright and laughing the whole time! This was when she was nearly 60 years old! She rode it like a champ!
During another reunion, she and her two oldest sisters (my grandmother and her twin sister Aunt Christine), we’re all three, gleefully jumping on the trampoline. One would fall and all would laugh till they cried!
Make no mistake though, if one of us got out of line, she was quick to assist us in correcting our error! All it took, was that Aunt Louise look and the inevitable lecture to get us back on the right road.
We always knew there was love in that correction, but we were still scared to face her disapproval.
She was always straightforward and wise in her advice, and anyone of us knew we could go to her and leave with better clarity.
To have had this beautiful lady as a sister, mother, Aunt, Grandmother or friend, was a true gift from God. She was rare, in every sense of the word. Her presence will be missed, but knowing that she is now reunited with so many loved one that have gone before her is truly solace.
Aunt Louise was a blessed woman, who blessed many.
