Our heartfelt sympathy to the Wonders family!
Dick was a very talented and unique individual who had a lot of knowledge and expertise in whatever he did. Musically, I will always remember how he would research the history of hymns and give special background information and insight into the hymn writer and how the song was written when he was leading a song service. Another one of his musical trademarks was how he loved to transition from one hymn to another, creating a medley, and would also change keys between verses to add variety...and keep the accompanist on his or her toes.
While my husband was property manager at Grace Church of the Nazarene, he and Dick worked together a lot making continual improvements around the church, especially with the sound system. They had a lot of experiences together which have become very special memories, and it was fun listening to them reminisce and chuckle about them in recent weeks.
In his lifetime, Dick has been a lot of places, known a lot of people, and had a lot of experiences which he loved to talk about. We will miss his story-telling and zest for life, but we know that we will see him again and rejoice together around the Throne getting caught up on all the news!
