Mr. Robert Dixon Johnson's Obituary
Robert Dixon Johnson was born in Hillsborough, North Carolina to Henry Clay Johnson Sr. and Ethel (Miller) Johnson on February 18th, 1927. He grew up in the Schley Community. He graduated from Hillsborough High School and then attended Kings Business School in Greensborough, NC. He was a farmer before being drafted into the military in June 1945 and served in the U.S. occupation of Japan. Once he finished his service in January 1947, he returned to the farm until 1953 when he gave his life to the ministry.
During his years in the ministry, Robert labored in Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, South Dakota, North Dakota, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Kentucky. He is remembered for his diligent study of the scriptures and his unfailing love and zeal in sharing with others the blessings of the Gospel that enriched his life.
Robert died peacefully on December 15th, 2018 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents Henry Clay Johnson Sr. and Ethel (Miller) Johnson and his brothers Sam, Phillip, Jim, Henry, and Ned Johnson. He is survived by four sisters in law Fanny, Mary Sue, Jeanette, and Sue Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 8:30-10:00 am at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10 am. Interment will take place in North Carolina.
Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216 has been entrusted with the final care of Mr. Johnson.
