Mr. Roy Glendon Batey's Obituary
Roy Glendon Batey, age 77, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his residence in Hendersonville. He was a native of Charlotte, Tennessee being the son of the late Slayden and Irene Hogue Batey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Batey. He was employed by Murphy Oil Company for 36 years and came home to operate his own CPA firm for 10 years. He served our country in the United States Army in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and was a member of the Fred Bracey Sunday School Class. He was also an Ordained Deacon. Mr. Batey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Hunter Batey; a daughter, Kelly Batey (Mike) Tibbitt of Little Rock, Arkansas ; a son, Kendal Batey of El Dorado, Arkansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at the Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roger Luther officiating. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday, February 3, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 10:30 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Fred Bracey Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the Fred Bracey Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. Services entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery.
