Dr. Estes was one of my favorite teachers. I was in her AP English back in the 80s. She challenged us and had such high standards for our writing. Because of Dr. Estes I was well-prepared for college and was able to skip all of the freshman composition classes. The skills I learned in her senior English class have served me well in my career and as I furthered my education to earn masters and doctoral degrees. My condolences to Dr. Estes’ family and friends.
I have always wanted to come back to Dr. Estes to let her know how influential she was in my educational journey. I was fully prepared to go to college because of her, and certainly would have never gotten a PhD without her guidance!
Oh my dear Sarah, what a teacher, mother, friend. We go way back and watched Kim to grow into such an endearing young lady full of love like you. I cherish the dolls you gave to me and doll accessories. Loved visiting with you and Kim. Love and strength to your family. You have certainly earned your wings and have left a wonderful legacy for your students and peers.
Mrs. Estes was my favorite high school teacher. I truly loved her. She had a way of making me feel special...almost like her peer instead of her student. She inspired me to love English and to study it in college. I will forever be grateful to her. To her daughter, thank you for sharing your mother with me and so many others. She was one of a kind and I will never forget her. God bless you!
What a wonderful teacher. She was my AP Senior English teacher and I learned so much from her. She taught me how to write and any success I have in terms of sharing ideas/information, I owe to her. Truly a special teacher, the best of the best.
