Virginia Maxine Kemmerly (“Max”) passed away peacefully after a long illness on her 80th birthday, February 18, 2014, and has gone to glory to get a well-deserved rest. Born in 1934 in Irvine, KY, to Dewey and Lottie Whitaker. Max Read Obituary
We had known Mrs. Kemmerly a short time...she was a stylishly dressed, Southern Lady. It was evident her family cared deeply for her and made arrangements for her comfort. We want to let her children know that we will never forget meeting their "Mother." Max and Linda Love, friends from the Hearth Keepsake.
We have the warmest memories of "Miss" Maxine and Paul. Maxine was our daughter Meg's teacher in the children's class of Bible Study Fellowship in the 1980's. We also have wonderful family memories of the annual picnic at Beersheba Springs. They taught us by example how to share generously the blessings from the Lord. The Beersheba Springs Historical Society owes much to Maxine for her energetic and faithful work helping preserve the history of the Beersheba area and promoting positive things for the community and its residents. As secretary for quite a few years, she was a wonderful communicator to the membership and graciously helped several presidents carry out the mission of the society. We have missed both Maxine and Paul at Beersheba, and we are glad to know she has reached her well-deserved eternal home. Our deepest sympathies to all her family.

Maxine was a wonderful lady and she was so good to the libraries in Grundy County. She loved the libraries and the librarians. She did so much for the Beersheba Library I will never forget her for that. The librarians speak of her often and share what she did for us. When she left the Board she was truely missed. We love you Maxine and we miss you daily.
Maxine Kemmerly was a wonderful lady. We have many great memories of spending time with her. She will always be fondly remembered.
