My name is Roy Baggett. I first met Bill back in the summer of 1972 when I was working my way thru High School and later on College at the Lowe's on Allied Drive in Nashville. You can say - - - Bill gave me my "First Job" and Later in Life was influential me getting on at Wallboard & Supply Company where we worked together for a number of years again.
Back in 1972 I was glad to get away from the farm and make $1.76/hour and be able to work back then unlimited hours . In those days we use to average working around 70 hours a week and grossed a whopping $149.60 (LOL) !!!!! Bill taught me how to pull lumber patterns for houses, about millwork, cabinets , insulation ( did itch back in those days ), drive a fork lift , drive big delivery trucks and carry sheetrock ( no boom trucks or drywall dollies back then ). We worked hard and had a good time.
Bill , Mary Beth and I often hunted together around Middle Tennessee. Bill was an "Expert Deer Hunter." Long story short on one hunt years ago he put me on a "Trophy Buck" and I missed him. The Saturday before when I zeroed in my 30-06 my wife's cat tripped me coming into the carport door at my house - - - I dropped my rifle and it bounced off the hardwood floor. I told my wife that her cat probably knocked my scope out of alignment - - - sure enough it did - - - at 50 yards shooting 6' high and 8' to the right when checked. Bill said it was a "wonder" I did not shoot someone's house. We were hunting on the edge of an urban area.
All of the "skill sets" fore mentioned I learned thru Bill at Lowe's I have used in my livelihood in the past 44 years. I am forever grateful to Bill for his mentorship and friendship. He will be missed ; but, when you think of someone who is no longer with us (like Bill) or speak about them - - - they are still with you until Jesus comes again or we go to be with them and Jesus ourselves.
Thank You Once Again Bill,
Roy Baggett
